The exciting design process, from our initial consultation to delivery of your project, can take several months depending on the project’s complexity and materials. 

There are five milestones in a typical design timeline: 

1. Tell us your dream

Meet with one of our design team for an initial consultation and to delve into inspiration, ideas and possibilities. Your designer will be your point of contact throughout the project. 

In this meeting, we learn about your needs, wants, expectations and budget. We might also get measurements of your space and talk through elements that may affect the design or materials used, such as room-flow, natural lighting and the locations of plumbing or electrical. 

2. Dreams are captured in design

We create a design that captures your vision and provides inspiration. We will present you with preliminary drawings and advice. In more detail, we talk through products, colours and finishes, and walk you through an extensive range of options. 

3. Finalising the design

Working together, we refine the design to make sure you get exactly what you want. Once you have chosen all the details, like materials and finishes, we present you with a final design as fully detailed drawings. This includes floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings that help you visualise your project before production begins. You also receive detailed costings for the project, based on the products chosen.  You may get alternative options to help meet your budget.

4. Skilled joiners work their magic

Once the design is finalised and the quote is agreed, the design moves into the hands of our skilled detailing and production teams, which work alongside the design team in Nelson. At this stage we agree on production times and delivery dates that fit your schedule. 

A joinery specialist may also visit your building site, home or workplace to reconfirm measurements at this stage. During production you may be invited into our workshop/showroom to see your project progressing. 

6. Installation by our talented team

We pride ourselves on seeing your project through to the end, with our team of skilled installers taking care to make sure your project is installed on time and your space left as you would expect, uninterrupted and ready for you to make your own.
